I Never Saw a Moor by Emily Dickinson

Emily Dickinson
I Never Saw a Moor
I never saw a moor—
I never saw the sea –
Yet know I how the heather look—
And what a wave must be.
I never spoke with God
Nor visited in heaven—
Yet certain am I of the spot—
As if the checks were given.

This poem is about faith; It means you can believe in something without seeing it. For instance she never saw the ocean but she knows it is there, she never saw God or heaven but she knows that they are real. she is explaining it here by saying that in the same way someone who has never seen the beach has no doubt that it exists, it is no different in the fact that nobody has never seen God, but that doesn't mean He doesn’t exist. She is also expressing her imagination here. She has a very vivid imagination and she can imagine anything. For example when she says, "I never saw the sea, yet know I how the heather looks, and what a wave must be."
